Wall Street trades lower as trade talks optimism wanes

Wall Street closed in the red, as optimism of a terse trade war resolution faded.
Reports from Chinese media indicate that Beijing is toning down its expectations ahead of the new negotiations round in Washington set to start Thursday, saying that Vice Premier Liu He will not carry a “special envoy” title, signalling low commitment.
The DJIA shed 1.2% while the S&P 500 retreated by 1.6% and the Nasdaq closed the session lower by 1.7%.
