Wall Street rises due to strong Chinese data

U.S. indices had a strong start to the week following positive manufacturing data from China which has brushed off the lingering worries of a global growth slowdown as bank stocks rose.

Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Bank of America and J.P. Morgan Chase all closed at least 2.5% or higher.

The DJIA rose by 1.3% to close the session at 26,258 points, meanwhile the S&P 500 increased by 1.2% at 2,867 points and the Nasdaq gained 1.3% to end at 7,829 points.
