Volvo to test first driverless buses in Singapore

Volvo AB will begin trials of driverless buses in Singapore, as the city joins the race for autonomous public transport.
With a capacity of 80 passengers per vehicle the trials will begin at the campus of Nanyang Technological University.
Singapore has expressed its intentions to schedule driverless buses during off-peak hours in certain residential areas of the city by 2022.
Volvo Buses president, Hakan Agnevall, stated that the new electric buses “represents a key milestone for the industry.”
“The journey towards full autonomy is undoubtedly a complex one.”
