US indices mostly lower, 3M shares down double digits

U.S. markets traded mostly lower as the retail sector posted some unpleasant figures.

The DJIA shed 0.5% while the S&P 500 ended the session down 1.08 points to 2,926.17.

Bucking the trend however was the Nasdaq which rose by 0.2% as Microsoft and Facebook shares rallied by 3.3% and 5.9% respectively.

Although the latter has reserved around $3 billion for potential fines in regards to mishandling of client data.

Tesla however, failed to keep up the pace as shares fell by 4.3% as quarterly losses were beyond expectations.

However not a bad as 3M’s stock which slumped by 13%, its worst day since 1987...
