U.S. markets ended Monday’s session slightly higher bar the Dow Jones as declining shares of Boeing continue to weigh down on the index.

The DJIA slipped by 0.2% while the S&P 500 edged higher by 0.1% and the Nasdaq rose by 0.2% ending the session at its highest since last October.

So far, of the 15% of S&P 500 firms that have reported, 78% of those released better-than-expected earnings, above the five-year average.

Potentially weighing on investor sentiment, however, is that just 53% of companies have reported sales above estimates, lagging the five-year average.

The week ahead awaits earning reports from the likes of Coca-Cola, Twitter, Facebook and Microsoft.
