US indices close higher as S&P 500 and Nasdaq close on record highs

U.S. markets had a positive start to the week as most indices traded higher, most notably the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq which posted yet again record highs.

The DJIA edged higher by 0.1% although shares of both Boeing and Walt Disney saw losses.

Meanwhile the S&P 500 rose by a slight 0.1% as the financial sector led the way with New York Mellon and Citigroup shares increasing by 2% each.

To wrap the session up in Wall Street the Nasdaq closed the session by adding 0.2% and setting a second consecutive day of record highs which have not been seen since August of 2018.
