Trade standoffs weigh in on asian indices

Asia’s indices declined as the current trade standoff between the U.S. and China seems to have no progress, additionally, Tokyo and Seoul now seem to embroiled in a trade skirmish.


In mainland China the Shanghai Composite fell by 0.6% while the Shenzhen Composite followed suit with a drop of 1%.


Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index shed 0.4% as Tencent and Galaxy Entertainment shares fell by 1.1% and 1.5% respectively.


Over in Seoul the Kospi dropped by 0.3% as LG Electronics shares plunged by 2.8% while in Tokyo the Nikkei 225 also retreated by 1.6% as Canon and SoftBank saw losses.


In Australia, the ASX200 fell off the pace by 0.3% as Beach Energy, Oil Search and BHP all recorded losses for the day’s exchange.
