Huawei launched a new 5G flagship smartphone lineup earlier today, the mate 30 series, which it’s a first from Huawei as its device will be running without pre-installed Google-licensed apps due to the tech giant being blacklisted by the U.S.

Showcased at a launch event in Munich, the Mate 30 will operate on an open-source version of Google’s Android operating system meaning that new devices will not be installed with key Google apps, like Gmail, YouTube, Maps or the Play Store.

Huawei will instead offer its own Android-based interface called EMUI10 and its own app store.
