In Hong Kong the Hang Seng was lower 1.5% following Tencent’ shares dropping by over 2%.

Over in Tokyo the Nikkei 225 retreated by 0.7% as SoftBank shares tumbled by 5% while the smaller cap index, the Topix was also down by 0.6%.

Seoul’s Kospi, however, did manage to score some gains by trading higher by 0.2% as tech giants Samsung and SK Hynix made up for early losses in the exchange.
