Asian indices traded higher during today’s session as optimism surrounds the ongoing talks between the US and China.

The US Treasury Secretary, Steven Mnuchin, announced that the planned tariffs on $250 billion dollars of Chinese goods will not go ahead.

The Shanghai Composite index jumped by 1.2% while the Hong Kong index, the Hang Seng rose by 0.8%.

The Japanese markets were closed due to public holiday, hence the Kospi in Seoul climbed by 1.1% and the Aussie ASX 200 gained 0.5%.
