Asian indices trade mixed as China and US seek trade resolution

Asian indices ended the trading session mostly higher during today’s session as optimism surround the current trade situation between Washington and Beijing.

Vice Premier Liu He announced over the weekend that both sides are aiming to cease the current standoff by addressing the concerns by either side.

The Shanghai Composite index gained 0.1% while in Hong Kong the Hang Seng index ended the session higher by the same margin of 0.1%.

In Japan the Nikkei 225 rose to 0.3% thanks to shares of Nissan and Rakuten gaining 0.8% and 1.5% respectively, meanwhile the South Korean Kospi inched higher by 0.2% as Samsung closed higher by 0.8%.

Rounding the session off the ASX in Australia shed a slight 0.1% as shares of Beach Energy fell by 1.5%.
