Indonesia Market Today - 14 May 2020
A. INDONESIA MORNING MARKET REVIEW
Thursday (14/05/2020). Concern over the Fed Chairman`s statement that there is a risk of economic decline so that the current stimulus package is insufficient to push the DJIA back down on the 3rd day by -516.8 points (-2.17%), so that for 3 days the DJIA fell by -1083.3 points (-4.51% ) combined with the drop in EIDO by -0.50% and the fall of several commodity prices such as Oil -1.01%, Nickel -0.35% and Tin -0.79% potentially pushing back down the JCI in this Thursday trade amid no visible signs of a decrease in alias the number of victims infected and killed by the Corona Virus in Indonesia is increasing where Corona Virus has infected 15,438 people (to 17,000 people) with a death toll of 1,028 people, to 1,100 people killed (Fatality Rate of 6.66%).
On the other hand, the following commodity-based stocks such as: Coal + 1.75%, Gold + 0.97% and CPO + 1.64% have the potential to strengthen today.
Knowing that IHSG has the potential to be hit again by profit taking or falling back, amid foreign investors who continue to record Net Sell where YTD (as of May 13, 2020) reached Rp -22.90 trillion and valuations there are still quite a lot of interesting stocks to buy, We recommend being very selective if investors want to do BOW or Swing Trade so they can focus on stocks from the Telko, FMCG, Basic Industries, Cigarettes, Gold Metal, Coal, Pharmaceutical and Consumer sectors in this Thursday trade.
