Tech stocks take a beating as Wall Street trades lower
U.S. indices were lower during Monday’s exchange as the current trade standoff between Washington and Beijing weighs on investors, resulting in a sharp selloff of tech stocks.
The DJIA slipped by 0.3% to 25,679.90 points while the S&P 500 retreated by 0.7% to 2,840.23 points.
The Nasdaq had the same result, falling lower by 1.5% as shares of Apple tumbled by 3.1% and so did Cisco which saw a decline of 0.6%.
Other tech companies such as Intel and Tesla also saw losses of 3% and 2.7% respectively.
