US indices post their best January month since the 80's

U.S. indices were mostly up as the Fed announced a more positive stance regarding rising interest rates.
The DJIA fell off the pace by 0.9%, however the S&P 500 and the Nasdaq both gained 0.9% and 1.4% respectively and with both posting their best January months.
The S&P 500 rose by 7.9% in January making it the best since 1987, the Nasdaq gained a total 9.7% making it its best January since 2001 and the Dow advanced by 7.2% posting the best January results since 1989.
