US indices drop amid global fears of a slowdown

U.S. indices closed their exchange session on loss as global slowdown fears gripped investors.

Other factors where reports that U.S. officials turned down their Chinese counterparts on having a preliminary encounter on the current trade stand-off, however those rumors were rubbished by White House advisor Larry Kudlow, which prompted a late rally in the markets but nevertheless still below the gain line.

Hence, the DJIA tumbled by 1.2% while the S&P 500 fell by 1.4% and the Nasdaq composite retreated by 1.9%.
