Trading closed for major indexes as U.S. mourns the late George H. W. Bush, futures recover

Jobs data, the Labor Department’s report and Fed Chairman Powell’s testimony have all been postponed and the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq are both closed to mark the day of mourning for the late former President George H.W. Bush.
Trading in energy and metals futures are open for their normal hours and so is trading the futures indexes, which have made a recovery from yesterday’s massacre.
The S&P 500 rose 0.6%, the Dow Jones futures also up 0.44% and the Nasdaq futures followed the trend up 0.66%.
