It will be a further step in blockchain technology being applied in such circumstances, the Swiss city of Zug and the Japanese town of Tsukuba have tested the technology in municipal elections.
NECTEC’s cybersecurity head, Chalee Vorakulpipat stated that implementing the blockchain voting system will make the process faster, cheaper and more secure.
"Nectec developed blockchain technology for e-voting that can be applied to national, provincial or community elections, as well as business votes such as the the board of directors. The goal is to reduce fraud and maintain data integrity.”
The system will ensure voter’s identity is confirmed by mobile cameras and will also able to submit their votes by email after verification has been completed.
