Huawei’s CFO Meng Wanzhou has been granted bail from a Vancouver judge, going against the U.S. wishes as they thought she could be a flight risk.

Nevertheless, it will be quite hard for Ms. Meng to make any attempts the U.S. justice as bail has been set at $10 million CAD, ($7 million in cash and a further $3 million by 5 guarantors provided by Ms. Meng), along with surrendering her passport, wearing a GPS tracking device and must be escorted by security anytime she is away from her residence.

In a statement Huawei said, "We have every confidence that the Canadian and U.S. legal systems will reach a just conclusion in the following proceedings," adding "As we have stressed all along, Huawei complies with all applicable laws and regulations in the countries and regions where we operate, including export control and sanction laws of the UN, U.S. and EU."

Facing extradition to the U.S. for violations of international trade sanctions, Ms. Meng will return to court on February 6.
