Huawei placed on Washington's export "blacklist"
The Trump administration has once again gone on the offensive with Huawei as it has now required all U.S. companies to obtain a license prior to selling technology to the tech giant.
Both the White House and U.S. Department of Commerce announced yesterday the measures which will effectively ban Huawei from selling technology into the American market.
It could also prevent it from buying semiconductors from Qualcomm in the U.S. that are crucial for its production.
President Donald Trump issued an executive order in which he declared a “national emergency” in relation to threats against U.S. telecommunications, a move that authorizes the commerce department to “prohibit transactions posing an unacceptable risk” to national security.
