Asian indices contiue gains as Japan falls behind

Asian markets have enjoyed another day of slight gains, bar Japan as it failed to keep up the pace.

The Nikkei 225 retreated by 0.37% while the Topix too shed 0.36%, due to weak jobs numbers and the Bank of Japan warning of weaker inflation.

Chinese indices were mixed as the Shanghai composite edged by 0.15% and the Shenzhen composite remained mostly flat while over in Hong Kong the Hang Seng crept upward by 0.1%.

South Korea’s Kospi rose by 0.7% as Samsung gained 1%.

Australia’s ASX 200 climbed by 0.5% with the banking sector gaining as the major banks all enjoyed gains.

ANZ advanced by 1.86%, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia gained 1.86%, Westpac by 1.88% and the National Australia Bank climbed by 2.36%.
