Asian indices boosted by Wall Street's gains

Asian indices followed the trend left by yesterday’s session in Wall Street as they traded higher.

Mainland Chinese index the Shanghai composite dropped by 0.2% while in Hong Kong, the Hang Seng rose by 0.7% as China Life Insurance and automaker Geely both gained 4.2% and 3.4% respectively.

South Korea’s Kospi advanced by 0.9% as Samsung rose by 2% and chipmaker SK Hynix increased by 2.7%.

Japan’s Nikkei 225 also enjoyed gains regardless of its exports dropping by 8.4% last month.

Rounding things up in down under, the ASX rose slipped by 0.3%, although the banking sector fell, the mining sector gained momentum as Rio Tinto and BHP rose by 2.6% and 2.5% respectively.
