Asian indices boosted as China's Vice Premier heads to Washington

Asian markets were boosted following positive news from the ongoing U.S.-China trade talks.

Mainland Chinese markets enjoyed gains as the Shanghai composite rose by 1.16% and the Shenzhen composite also gaining ground.

Indices were also buoyed due to news that Chinese Vice Premier Liu He will be travelling to Washington with an aim to end the current tariff war, on January 30.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng surged by 1.16% meanwhile South Korea’s Kospi also climbed by 0.67%.

The Japanese Nikkei 225 powered up by 1.3% and he Aussie ASX 200 inched higher by 0.5%.
